The vision of »Fuggereis of the future« is realised through the cooperation by the Fugger foundations with international partners. The idea: Foundations from all around the world can combine their personal idea of social action with the core concepts of the Fuggerei. These core concepts are summarised in the Fuggerei code, which has been written down for the first time for the foundation’s 500-year jubilee. This code reveals the “secret” of the Fuggerei and makes it distinct from other foundations and also from other social settlements. The Fuggerei code is worded such that it can also apply in the future. It continues the old and successful core of the founder’s intent, but is open enough for a modern and future-proof interpretation.
